You can spend many hours at this site. Apart from almost complete information about IAF, there are a huge number of articles and photos on it. Many officers’ writing is sorted year wis3e.

Once you read these, if you have the time, you can contact some of the authors to ask them questions, provided of course if they are available. It would be best to ask the site’s webmaster for email addresses of the writers.

This suggestion is for everybody who has an interest in the Indian Air Force. There are no restrictions or hitches in visiting this site.

My father was in IAF, and I spent my childhood, school days, and college days with only one dream of becoming a fighter pilot, I have no idea but I wanted to be a pilot of Jaguar (must be matching with my name – shamsher). Your real life article reminds me about how I used to be so much in love with IAF and still got that same passion. More than studies I was involved with scout and guide, ncc, and other defence related activities. My hometown Allahabad and cleared my PABT from 34 SSB there, but regret of life that unfortunately couldnt make it to this lovely service. I am in New Zealand now from many years but love for IAF and a/c is still fresh and growing each day. Your article reminds me my childhood and schooling at different Air Forces bases of India. I have high regards for you Sir.

Thanks for your kind comment on my submission. I have notlooked but I think many military people in Inida have written about their WW II experienes. Of course the literature, particulalry from the 1948 war for Kashmir onwards is quite extensive. This might reinforce my view that writing of the past not being available via the Internet might not reach enough readeers, particulalrly outside India.
